"Let´s go to the videotape” - what sports fan doesn´t know this expression, coined by sportcaster Warner Wolf.
Warner began his career in radio in Pikesville, Kentucky, in 1961. >From there he went to Martinsburgh, WV, Silver Spring, MD, and then to Washington DC. In 1968, Warner made it to TV with WTOP_TV in Washington DC, and in 1976 he made it to The Big Apple, with WABC_TV where he remained until 1980. In 1980 Warner made the switch to WCBS_TV, where he remained until 1992. In 1997, Warner returned to WCBS.
Warner Wolf has been voted sportscaster of the year three times (1973,1974 and 1980). Wanrer is also the author of the book “Gimme a Break!”
In June, 1986 at the age of 48, Warner was Bar-Mitzvahed.
