Harvard senior Charles Altchek has been arguably one of the most pivotal players in the history of the Harvard Men’s Soccer Team. Charles was named team captain following his outstanding junior season and he was named to the NSCAA Division All-Northeast Region First Team and First Team All Ivy League.
Charles’ legacy was cemented when he was awarded Player of the Year honoree for the second season in a row, only the second time that has happened in the Ivy League.
Charles led the team to a number 17 national ranking in Ivy Championship this season. He led the team with 12 goals and added 4 assists to finish second overall in points with 54, 4 of his goals being game winners. Charles finished his career at Harvard with 31 goals to move into a tie for third place on the program’s all-time list. Charles was one of 60 seniors nationwide to be invited to participate in the 2007 MLS Combine.
In 2005, Charles trained with Middlesborough Football Club of the English Premier League and in 2004 he trained with AC Perugia of the Serie A in Italy.
